The other night I walked out of the bathroom after taking a shower and turned off the light in the bathroom. When I walked into the bedroom, to grab a shirt from my dresser, it was almost impossible to see. Fortunately, there is a little orange light on the light switch by my bedroom door, making it is easy to find in the dark.
I got to the light switch, but before I could flip it, I jammed my fingers into the wall. It hurt a little bit, made me laugh, and strangely, reminded me of a conversation I had with my physical therapist.
Sometimes we need a someone or something to shed a little light on our situation.
My physical therapist asked me a simple question, “What do you do for cardio?” After an awkward pause I said, “Uh well, sometimes I ride the stationary bike.” As a personal trainer, I should know better. But it took my physical therapist to flip the switch on me.
What switch needs to be flipped in your fitness routine? Could you use some cardio, a quick hike, maybe some time with the weights, or you may need to start working out again because you’ve been on a break. Whatever the case, use this post as your light switch so you can quit stumbling around and see where you need to go.
